If you are traveling to other countries, an International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required in certain cases.
The car rental deposit or pre-authorization is an amount reserved on your credit card to ensure the security of the rental company. This money is not charged like a regular purchase; it is only temporarily held until your rental ends. A pre-authorization will be made when you pick up the car, and the full amount will be released after the vehicle is returned.
The rental fees at Wanaka Car Rental Company usually include unlimited mileage, basic mandatory insurance, and the rental agency's administrative fees. The rental counter may offer optional items such as child seats or GPS. Be sure to carefully review your rental agreement to ensure it meets your needs, as some rental agencies may have mileage restrictions or additional optional insurance.
Car rental protections cover damage to the vehicle, personal accidents, and liability. Common protections include LDW (Loss Damage Waiver), CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), ALI (Additional Liability Insurance), and PAI (Personal Accident Insurance). Coverage names and specifics can vary by rental company. In case of an incident, file a police report and follow the rental company’s procedures. Additional protections can be purchased online or at the rental counter.
A discount code is a promotional offer that can reduce your rental cost at checkout. To use it, enter the code on the payment page when making a booking. If the code is valid, the fare will be automatically updated. Discount codes can be obtained through exclusive promotions, newsletters, or referral programs. Please note that they cannot be used in conjunction with cashback offers, and the discount code cannot be reused if the booking is canceled.
One-way rental fee, also known as an off-site return fee, is charged when the vehicle is returned to a location different from the pick-up location. This fee covers the cost of returning the vehicle to its original location. To view prices that include a one-way fee, please select the 'Different Return Location' option.

When booking, please choose the category that matches your space and luggage requirements. If a specific model is not available at pick-up, we will provide a similar model from the same category to ensure equivalent functionality. A valid ID and a valid driver's license, as well as a credit card in the renter's name, are required when booking and picking up the car. Please carry your booking confirmation with you and ensure that your contact information is accurate so you can receive email/SMS updates.
